Excitement Builds as the 2026–27 NSSHL Season Approaches

The wait is almost over.

Excitement is building across Nova Scotia as the 2026–27 Nova Scotia Senior Hockey League season draws closer, with all seven teams set to return to the ice and another season of senior hockey action on the horizon.

While the league will feature plenty of familiar faces and rivalries, there is one exciting change heading into the new season.

The Cape Breton County Islanders, under new ownership, will enter the 2026–27 campaign with a new identity. We are happy to introduce the Membertou Warriors.

The Warriors will join Glace Bay and Cape Breton West in the Cape Breton Division, creating a three-team battle on the island that promises plenty of competitive hockey throughout the season.

Meanwhile, the Northumberland Division remains unchanged, with Truro, Antigonish, East Hants and Pictou County once again rounding out the division.

After a memorable inaugural season that saw the Truro Mosaik Bearcats capture the Al Hollingsworth Cup and the Cape Breton West Blackstone Knights capture the Vince Ryan Cup, the bar has been raised heading into Year Two.

While the teams have been busy preparing for the upcoming season, there has been plenty of movement behind the scenes. New faces, familiar faces, and some old faces finding new homes are all part of what promises to be a fascinating offseason across the NSSHL.

The season is coming… and it’s coming fast!

Buckle up, fans. The 2026–27 NSSHL season should be a great one!
