Cape Breton Division Announces 2026 Award Winners
The Cape Breton Division is proud to recognize the outstanding players, coaches, and organizations who made a major impact throughout the season. From dominant offensive performances to strong leadership and passionate fan support, this year’s award winners represent the very best of the division.

Most Valuable Player – Sam Gillis (Cape Breton County)
Sam’s dedication to the game and the way he competes every night made him a clear choice for this year’s MVP award. Finishing the season with 40 points in 13 games, good for second in league scoring, Sam showcased just how dangerous he is offensively. His ability to create plays and elevate the players around him makes a major difference every time he steps on the floor.
Top Scorer – Logan O’Neil (Cape Breton County)
Logan had an exceptional season, finishing with a league-high 44 points in just 13 games, an incredible 3.4 points per game average. A complete offensive weapon, Logan consistently drove the offense with his speed, vision, and finishing ability, making him a threat every time he stepped on the floor.
Top Defenseman – Leon Denny (Cape Breton County)
Leon was a workhorse on the back end for the Islanders this season. In just 9 games, he recorded an impressive 26 points from the blue line, proving he was not only strong defensively but also a constant offensive threat. His ability to control play and move the puck made him a key piece of the Islanders’ success.
Top Goalie – Kenzie MacPhail (Cape Breton West)
Kenzie was a huge part of the CBW Knights’ success this season. He started 10 of their 14 games, posting a 6–4 record while logging nearly double the minutes played of any other goaltender in the league. His steady play between the pipes made him the backbone of the CBW squad throughout the season.
Top Coach/GM – Chris MacDonald (Cape Breton County)
Chris was responsible for assembling the County Islanders, and the team impressed in the division from day one. Under his leadership, the Islanders finished the season with an outstanding 11–2 record, good for first place in the standings.
200-Foot Player – Connor Harroun (Glace Bay Miners)
Known for his ability to impact the game at both ends, Connor earned this award for his strong two-way play with Glace Bay. He was reliable in all situations and also contributed offensively with 9 points in 13 games.
Best Fan Base – Glace Bay Miners
The Glace Bay Miners supporters brought tremendous energy and passion all season long. Their dedication helped create one of the best atmospheres in the league and played a big role in supporting their team throughout the year.
Franchise of the Year – Cape Breton West Blackstone Knights
The Cape Breton West Blackstone Knights take home Franchise of the Year honours, recognizing the organization’s overall success both on and off the floor this season. They packed both the Port Hood and Inverness rinks night in and night out.
