Bulldogs with Commanding Win Over Pipers

PICTOU – The Antigonish Bulldogs continued their strong start to the season, securing a 4-1 victory over the Shoreline Pipers at Hector Arena on Saturday night. The win gives the Bulldogs a 2-0 record in their season series against the Pipers so far.

From the opening puck drop, the Bulldogs displayed a relentless and disciplined game, capitalizing on their chances while stifling the Pipers' offense.

The Bulldogs set the tempo early, striking twice in the first period. #71 Devin Maclaughlin opened the scoring just 1:50 into the game, followed by a goal from #7 Brad Kennedy less than three minutes later, giving the visitors a firm grip on the game they would not relinquish.

While the Pipers managed to get on the board in the second period with a goal from their standout #71 Nate Leger, the Bulldogs had an immediate answer. Just 48 seconds after the Pipers' goal, #13 Zach Fitzgerald restored the two-goal cushion, effectively halting any building momentum for the home side.

The Bulldogs sealed the victory in the third period with a goal from #8 Calum Macpherson, putting the game out of reach.

A key factor in the Bulldogs' victory was their remarkable discipline. They played a clean, penalty-free game, giving the Pipers no power-play opportunities to mount a comeback. The Pipers, by contrast, took one minor penalty.

In net, Bulldogs' goaltender #67 Peter Kopf was solid, turning aside 36 of 37 shots for the win. Pipers' goalie #35 Brent Walters was also strong, making 36 saves on 40 shots, but received limited offensive support from his team.

The victory improves the Bulldogs' record to a perfect 2-0, while the Shoreline Pipers fall to 0-3 as they continue to search for their first win.

Final Score: Bulldogs 4, Shoreline Pipers 1
