Bulldogs Stun Bearcats, Penguins Beat Pipers and Knights pull even with Miners.


Truro,NS – Truro vs. Antigonish
Antigonish wasted no time in Game 1, storming out of the gate and silencing the Bearcats’ home crowd. Three quick goals from Calum MacPherson, Nick Mahar, and Zack Fitzgerald in the opening ten minutes put the Bulldogs in control and set the tone for the night. Justin Sumarah was outstanding between the pipes, stopping 41 shots, including a jaw-dropping left-pad save on Cam Patton in the third period. Truro managed just one goal as Antigonish skated away with a 5–1 win. Game 2 goes tonight at the Colchester Legion Stadium, with the Bearcats looking to bounce back and even the series before heading back to Antigonish.

Antigonish leads best of seven series 1-0.


Lantz, NS – East Hants vs Pictou
The Penguins dominated from the opening puck drop, outshooting the Pipers 50–18 on their way to a 5–2 win in Game 1. Makail Paker opened the scoring, sparking a five-goal stretch that saw the Penguins take a commanding 5–0 lead. Riley Spears, Andrew Shewfelt, and Cameron Pound all added multiple points, while Nate Leger’s two late goals for the Pipers made the final 5–2. Despite the late push, the Penguins controlled the game and now hold an early edge in the series. Game two goes this afternoon at the Pictou County Wellness Centre. 

East Hants leads best of seven series 1-0.


Glace Bay, NS – Glace Bay vs Cape Breton West
In Glace Bay, the Miners looked to build on their Game 1 road win, but the Knights fought back. Branden Dauphinee scored first for Glace Bay, but Jason Johnson tied it on a short-handed goal before the second period ended. In the third, Craig Ryan and Travis King put the Knights ahead 3–1, and though Colton Abraham added a late power-play goal for the Miners, it wasn’t enough. Hunter Chenhall stopped 41 shots for Glace Bay, while Kenzie MacPhail made 36 saves for the Knights in the victory. With the series now tied 1–1, all eyes turn to Game 3 next Friday in Inverness.

Best of five series tied 1-1.
